This 1950s reproduction retro Red Hawaiian dress was made to help wake up a first Friday night
ukulele Strum-a-Long. Cotton/cotton blend red Hawaiian print with side zip and two front pockets.
Pattern: Butterick B6055 has a cute skirt with cute pockets.
The collar and side zip were a little complicated. Not fond of the bodice/sleeve.
This pattern would look better with contrasting pockets and collar.
Added to seams, but probably could have left it out.

The bodice was 2" too long. Notice the seam line below the belt. So, I had to rip out the top of the zipper, take apart the bodice from the skirt, shorten bodice 2", take in part of the bodice, gather/ease the skirt, and sew it back together.
Seems like it is too much print and missing something. My first thoughts to fixing this would be to add a white or pink bolero jacket and a white sailor tie. Plus, wear a petticoat underneath.
