1916 dresses with deep tucks that mimic flounces.
List of Dresses
Pattern:
Wearing History #R124 Eloise - Circa 1916 Surplice Dress & Shield
The pattern has original and annotated instructions. A few diagrams. Definitely, not step by step with diagrams. Construction is different than modern. Watch the differing seam allowances.
The layered looking skirt is actually tucks and not flounces.
Waist is supposed to be slightly high waist.
Belt pattern not included.
Waist construction was strange both in the extant and annotated instructions. Tried making a dog leg opening.
Black Mini Polka Dot
Black with mini white polka dots cotton dress has slightly higher waist, crossover bodice, and deep skirt flounces. Orange/rust silk belt and "shield"/dickie.
