Wanted a day and dinner dress using the same natural form undergarments and started with a Poison Ivy wearable mock up.

Poison Ivy

Synthetic stretch green polonaise natural bustle dress.
Reproduction 1878 Polonaise natural form bustle dress worn for as part of an Emerald City contingent to a Crocker ArtMix and planned for as Poison Ivy for a tea at Costume College 2023.

Stretch synthetic taffeta is not fun to sew. Used natural form hoops, petticoat, and underskirt.

Started out using pattern instructions sizing from prepandemic. Waist shortened 1" and different front and back sizes. Made three bodice to hip mock-up muslin toiles to get better fit. Raised armscye up.

For this version, turned it into evening dress neckline and added bertha and puff sleeves. Put in invisible zip in front and fake buttons down back.

Rust Silk Day Dress

rust orange jacquard and orange/green shot dupioni silk natural form polonaise over rust silk underskirt. Back covered button closures, purple side ribbons, small tail.
Modifications:

• Mostly size G with alterations
• Shortened waist by 1”
• Added length to tail.
