1840s Victorian style daydress for picnicing. Interior photos were
taken in the lovely Shinn House in Fremont. (Bonnet in photos is closer
to 1850/60s style.)
Fabric
Lovely linen with embroidered edge was found and begged to be made into
a layered skirt.
Bodice
Black embroidered white linen blend, boned darts, black manmade buttons down front with
handsewn buttonholes. Self fabric piping on neckline, armholes and bottom edge.
Black lace on manchuron tucks and edges of manchuron, oversleeve and sleeve with
black braid on top edge of lace.
Pattern: Laughing Moon #114. Bodice shortened 3/4". Sleeve shortened 1.5". Oversleeve
and manchuron shortened 1". This pattern was intended as a dress pattern. Only the bodice
was made for this dress because the skirt had already been made.
