Dress
Green cotton print high waist dress gathered with drawstrings in front and underbodice pinned. Peach synthetic ribbon on waist.
Pattern: Simplicity S8941 American Duchess.
Second try at this pattern doing a bust adjustment since the retail pattern is really only good for an A maybe small B cup. There seems to be some other possible grading issues or my body size shape is just very non-standard now.
On the plus side, this print from Renaissance Fabric was very forgiving in that it hid some of my alterations. And I really liked my dress and had a fabulous time with friends at lunch and on the coast.
Modifications. Lots so many. Unless you are one of the smaller sizes, make mock-ups and prepare for a bunch of adjustments. I usually shorten sleeves by 3" and didn't have to shorten for this pattern so if you have regular arms, you may need to add sleeve length especially since Regency style sleeves often cover part of the hand to the knuckles.
- Bust adjustment and then neckline reshaping and a dart/tuck.
- Ribbon to cover not quite right waist line that pulls up in center still.
Petticoat
Cotton petticoat pinned in front has small rump pillow.
Pickle Hat
Green silk dupioni hat with faux fur trim designed from fashion plate inspiration.
